Also the teams only bother sending as few parts as possible to the far away GPs. They do not want to bother carrying useless parts around so they go to Europe and haul those useless bits, try them on the car and if it makes a difference keep them.

Usually, first 3 races are held far away from Europe so teams don't have chance to send cars back home which means that what they initially send to first race must last for 2 more races. That often includes more reliable engines (reduced power). That is why there are so many new aero updates and engine specs. once F1 returns to Europe.
