Was just looking at some pictures of the build up to this weekends Gp and i found this pic,

Now i can see what the Idea of the photo is, but why in germany is Kimi Standing like that at the back?

I just found it really funny, JPM just looks cool, Kimi looks like he is back in the 1940's
I believe in the chain of command, Its the chain I use to beat you till you do what i want!!!

They are both looking up at something.... maybe its the podium. Not thats not a knock at McLaren, I support them and I am heading out there tomorrow to show my support.

Without meaning to change the subject, last time I was in germany for a race I was very surprised to see the german fans cheer when Schumacher Jnr went off, I thought they were supporters of german drivers, but it appeared that unless he was driving a Ferrari and German he migh just of been another unknown

He looks like he is standing to attention (possibly some spin on when they used to play the national anthem of the GPs host country before the race, 50s)

But coolest car, I'd have to go with the older merc (what type is that. It is not in all cars ever!)

I think it's a Mercedes W25 from the 1930's (it's in Toca Race Driver 3 ;) )

Also, that's clearly an 2005 MP4-20 in Macca's 2006 colours, but, as I often see in promotional photos, the front wing looks too close to the ground to have been in compliance for the aero regs 2005-
Hardly important, but it bugs me... :oops:

EDIT:

Actually, I think that Merc looks even older than the W25, doesn't quite look as aerodynamic, could be wrong though.
Still, I think the W25 is the best known car from that time, so it would make sense for them to use it... I dunno.

Of course. I was thinking it was post 40s.
The wing does look low, perhaps its yust a trick of the light.

It is W25 from 1934. Mercedes didn'h have GP car until 1954 and that was W196. It was made in open wheel and closed wheel version

ah, the W196, in TRD3 as well ;) (in covered wheel form)

This is a bit off topic, but does that mean that Formula 1 has not always been permanently open-wheel?

I think Mclaren's are filled with fuel so both of them did well. Gap to Alonso and Ferrari is too big to be based on performace.
