Hello everyone,
I just found this while I was browsing the planetf1.com forums... what are the
rules in this case?

"Something We (Apparently) Missed As Well
Didnt the FIA notice Alonso missed coming into parc ferme and completed an extra lap yesterday after qualifying. As I understand, this is a black flag offence, should there not be a minimum of a ten-slot penalty, if not disqualification?? Of course, if Ferrari did it, Ronster and pals would be baying like wolves for Schumi's head on a stick, but its only Renault, so never mind I suppose.

Maybe Alonso needed a parade lap for himself since the Schumster is gonna rock the 'Ring today, and Massa's gonna do a samba on his coat-tails!!!

we talked about it in another thread, the reason why he did another lap is that he passed the finish line just few seconds after the chequered flag

Number of laps isn't limited and since he crossed the finish line before the qualifying time expired (before the flag) he had the right to do one more lap that was also measured. It is enough to cross finish line even 0.001 sec before qualifying session ends to get one more lap (every lap started before qualifying ends is legal and measured regardless if qualifying ends before lap).
