formula1.com worte wrong thing again in technical analysis...

They say that Renault introduced this type of wing for race in Spain while the truth is that it was introduced for Nurburgring. How come that they can be so out of time?

It's pretty bad huh. I don't think they really care too much, judging by the simplicity of the descriptions.

All the guy says is 'this new part cleans up the airflow' or 'this part increases downforce and decreases drag'

He never quotes team engineers either.

Where as Tomba and Pricipessa love the sport, it is their website, and thus they care about its content ensuring that it is as accurate as possible, there is every chance that the person/persons compiling the technical analysis on F1.com only do it because it is their job.

I can see that f1technical.net gets the news online at least 2 times faster than the Formula1 website. Even their Technical Anlalysis don't show Super Aguri's flip-up on the side of the chimney.(which m3_lover mentioned)

There's alot of clever people on this forum that know alot about the technical side of F1, so why can't we work together on our own technical analysis for this site?

There are only two usefull things at f1.com

1. Race countdown and schedules
2. Live timing

Understanding the sport section can be useful for beginners, otherwise there is much more detailed information on other sites ie. f1technical

Formula1.com is developed and supported by LB Icon. That's what is written at the bottom of their home page. But who are LB icon, I don't know... Must be a some private developpement team.

Good old LBIcon.

If I'm not much mistaken, it was they who had 'Lost Boys' written on the Minardis last year and the Midlands this year.

But, to the point, I rather like the F1 tech analysis, it's got good drawings and the description is usually enough for me, even if it does make some bizarre comments sometimes (I think they once wrote 'good for a new team starting in F1' for Super Aguri or smth like that).

Certainly, I haven't seen anything better...
