I don't think so ray, although the mods may merge it if they felt it necessary.

It's a breaking news story that will eventually be confirmed. In addition, I don't think it's particularly silly....

I know it's not silly; but the silly season is mostly discussing real moves anyways... lol

Personally I think it's a smart move, as he hasn't been outshone by Rosberg this year and will also expect to see a more competitive car in 2012 and especially 2013.

He didn't have the skill or team to get the job done in three years I see. So he chickened out of his lofty goals. He also don't have the cojones to retire and accept his position as the second best driver in the team. this man is going to race until he is 60 years old!

If you're really trying to compare Schumacher to Barichello, shame shame shame on you!

Schumi is just another driver, he has no need for his own thread. Schumi contract stuff merged with silly season.

Rosberg has extended his MGP contract to include "2013 and beyond."

With both of the MGP drivers locked in for at least two more years that will save some guess work!

2013 MGP-Schumacher hasn't truly been confirmed though, has it?

It's pretty much signed and sealed. Probably be made public after this gp or during the Brazilian gp.

Schumacher will want to see the fruits of mercedes recent aquisiions.... For sure.

Massa's replacement will be interesting next year. Plus, hamilton's contract will have run out. I don't imagine McLaren will replace him, but if he has another year like this one, it may be tight.

Sergio Perez to Ferrari and Ricciardo/Alguesari to Red Bull.

All in time for the 2013 season.

Ferrari is slowing becoming a "retirement team" for f1 drivers these day. pretty much a team that you want to drive for before retirement.

whereas for RBR, the are now becoming the new hype in F1. As long as RBR continue to dominate I dont think any of the WDCs would want to sign a long term contract with any other team.

perhaps the gate will only open in 2014 when we have the turbo engine.
