Massa, whose contract runs out at the end of 2012, trails champion Sebastian Vettel by 266 points heading into this season's final race in Brazil this weekend.
In an interview with radio program La Politica nel Pallone, Di Montezemolo says "we expect a great 2012 from him and then we will evaluate what to do. Let's say he is driving for a new deal next season."
Teammate Fernando Alonso is 137 points ahead of Massa and has 10 podium finishes this season.

He's been quick this season! He was quick last race. I was watching sector times Alonso just had such a good start (Plus the new wing) Felipe was really only a red p&%ic hair slower. He just threw it away on the mediums.
