Ferrari F2012 (pre-launch speculation)

A place to discuss the characteristics of the cars in Formula One, both current as well as historical. Laptimes, driver worshipping and team chatter do not belong here.

That looks like a pretty normal leading edge to the side pod there.

Actually... scratch that – it has something ahead of it on the outside – they do seem to be rather set back.

Anyway, Ferrari shouldn't try to spoil the hype for the new MP4-27 with a F60.

I believe it's the F60.

00:26; you can see the exterior mounted mirrors, banned later that year (2009)

The front glimpses they're showing (nose, front-wing) come from this pic: http://www.wallpapers10.net/wp-content/ ... ri_F60.jpg

And the top glimpses (rear, sidepods) from this one: http://www.auto-power-girl.com/high-res ... 009-12.jpg

That would be why it appears like there's something ahead of the side pod then...

All the sponsors on this car are old, example the bar code was banned and Alice hasn't been an sponsor of Ferrari for at least the last two years. This is a F60

Nobody is speaking of the picture of the F60, they're talking about the new video put out by Ferrari. In the video you can't see the bar code or Alice logo. Someone just put the picture up for reference in comparison to the video.

Seems like everybody else too. And there's not a single note like "a sneak peak at the 2012 Ferrari" :)

Apologies if repost:

Is that just likely to be a fake drawing from Piola? Thoughts on the side pod/crash structure configuration??

Yeah. It's the F60 and Piola's drawing right. Push-rod suspension on the front...

Mind you; Piola usually is a good source. The only issue with taking the one on F1.com as vindication of the Piola was that it WAS Piola's drawing. It was like using a friend's copy of the encyclopedia Britannica to verify an entry in your copy.
