F1 valve guides

All that has to do with the power train, gearbox, clutch, fuels and lubricants, etc. Generally the mechanical side of Formula One.

Anything out of the ordinary silicon bronze valve guides in used F1 engines?

Probably differs between engines but Toyota used CuNi3Si in their V8 engine. There are a few different copper based alloys that can be used.

At one time beryllium copper alloys were used for guides and intake seats. BeCu gave good hardness and heat transfer. Not sure if most BeCu alloys still meet the regs regarding max Be content though.
