Mercedes AMG F1 W03 (pre-launch speculation)

A place to discuss the characteristics of the cars in Formula One, both current as well as historical. Laptimes, driver worshipping and team chatter do not belong here.

This wing element has me surprised to say the least.

Henceforth, I will refer to this new 3 element front wing as: MkIa

Subsequent changes to this wing can be referred to in the previous vernacular as modifications arose: MkIIa, MkIIIa, MkIVa and so forth. If in F-duct is installed an 'f' can be added after the 'a'.

Ah, Mercedes had a REALLY short wheelbase last year and were hard on the tyres because of it. The teams will probably meet in the middle :)

it's definitely NOT of Brawn GP001. Nose is wrong, front wing is wrong, nose is higher, pylons, etc. I've no idea where the pic came from but I don't see it looking like anything else out there....

Sort of close to R30 but not quite.

I was thinking R30 too ... Was this from an official site, or just another "leak" (aka "fake").

Unless it came directly from the team, this looks like a reprise of the Sheet discussions from the McLaren speculation thread.

Although I guess with EBD's gone they may feel the advantage of a shorter wheelbase remains :)
