I don't know about that. It looks like it has virtual chimneys next to the exhausts.

I don't know where you're seeing that - they look more like vanes to direct the exhaust flow.
Also what do you mean about the top of their sidepod inlets being similar to Ferrari's? - what does that have to do with a blade roll-hoop?
Are you talking about the airbox for the engine cooling above the driver's head?
If so the additional inlet is probably additional cooling, there won't be any blade roll hoop.

The pods look a lot like Mclaren's, but a little slimmer. The inlets look more rectangular than the W02's.

Look at the sidepod inlets on the Ferrari and on this one. You'll see that they are very, very similar. Is such a design tantamount (equivalent in concept, but still different) to the blade-style roll hoops that allowed for development without altering the chassis?

Not necessarily, because the 2012 Pirelli rears are said to be stronger.But a very valid question. That FW is immense.
