F1 Drivers and their lives outside the F1

More and more F1 drivers reveil what they are up to when they are not in an F1 car or not in the gym.
Jarno Trulli makes his own wine, Jacques Villeneuve makes his own music (:arrow: http://www.f1technical.net/news/3131), Giancarlo Fisichella and Kimi Raikkonen have their own racing Team and Mark Webber has his own charity foundation.

Does anyone know something about the other drivers? What they're up to in their spare time?

Well I know Fernando Alonso is a unicef ambassador.

But what is that about Raikkonen having a racing team?

Yes. I read that in a Belgian newspaper last week. He started a race team for young Finnish drivers. But I don't know the name of the team or in which serie the team competes. Raikkonen started the team together with another guy, but I can't remember the name. I'll try to find the newspaper and look it up

I found the newspaper. The only information about it was that Raikkonen and his manager Steve Robertson have their own racing team that competes in the British F3.

I looked it up on the internet and the team's name is Raikkonen-Robertson Racing. Their star driver is none other than Bruno Senna!

I also know that Juan Pablo Montoya has his own charity foundation: Formula Smiles Foundation and he organises the race of stars every year (a karting race) to collect money for this charity.

Smiles Foundation visit children at hospitals in Malaysia, Brazil and Colombia. I think the face of this child says it all. Man, are we proud of Juan Pablo or what?



The money they get at the kart race in Cartagena of Indies is used to build sport facilities and to pay for physical education teachers in several cities of Colombia. Finally, JPM helmet has been always designed by children (like the rest of his current car, it seems! Sorry, I could not resist the temptation).

Oh well, I think it's a nice foundation that he chose! Of course the humanitary organisations that other drivers are supporting are very important, but we can't forget about our enviroment as well!

My guess is that Finland has the manditory military service. I know that some other countries have them, too. You'd think that he would be exempt from it...

Had some finnish students at our school last year and can confirm that Finland does indeed have mandatory army duty.
