Those race pace comparisons are entirely invalid as Hamilton and Webber were refueling between stints. On top of that I'd guess most teams are running conservative engine settings too, to mask their true pace from their rivals, and we have no idea to what degree they are doing this.

The soft tyres seem to drop off alarmingly.

Regarding Ferrari:
@InsideFerrari Just like yesteday, we're doing a big set-up change on the car, so don't expect to see us running soon.

I think they still are a bit clueless how the car behaves...

Not necessarily. A good way to better understand how/why something works best is to makes adjustments it until it stops working. It establishes a performance envelope. And this is, after all, testing.

Well said. Interesting that, throughout, Andrew Benson keeps stating that close analysis seems to show Ferrari are competitive.

This despite the fact that they're spending their time exploring the car/setups/tyres, rather than simulating quali/race.

What site is it where you can pull all time data?

Also, Brawn just stated on Autosport that they are seeing what is quicker, running hard on the tires right after a change, or trying to make them last over a stint. This explains the fall off of Nico's times a few laps into new tires.

Now you have archive also on that site. That's new and you can compare for all test days.
