@JET - I'm not sure about the one of Michael - he's visibly on primes (though I remember the Canada primes were softs? Or did I remember wrong - were they mediums?) - but Vettel and Massa's are comparable - both were on fresh options and fumes - because both were Q3 runs.

Monaco's not known to be a great place to appreciate differences in cars - by the fact that a driver's confidence and commitment could make a difference in laptime: but I'm 99.9999% positive the Schumacher and Vettel laps here are Q3 pieces:

Interesting up to the first corner Schumacher is ahead, but by the top of the hill Vettel has surpassed him.

Torque anyone?

Eh? Vettel gets to the apex before Schumacher - and don't forget Vettel probably has better traction out of Ste Devote and will be braking less for the Casino/Massenet complex. The Schumacher onboard is jittery though I'm not sure how much that has affected the run time of the video

I´m very optimistic for the first races already
Mercedes have great reliability and seem to be the ones who have actualy tried real race sims before realising they are quick enough to warrant sandbagging and hiding their cards.
in my opinion RedBull is struggling with gearbox issues and will not have reliability levels as last year ,they are under pressure.
I think the first 3 or 4 races are a Mercedes power race -Mclaren and AMG will fight for the wins with Vettel dropping out of more than once due to technical issues.

I believe the W01 and W02 were not up to Michael's skill level. He dances a dangerous dance on the edge with a car that is capable of riding on HIS edge. I refuse to believe age has so much to do with it as he is probably in better physical condition than most drivers on the grid. However, ff W03 doesn't allow him to shine then I will agree it's probably age related.

Scchumacher was not blown away by rossberg last year the small gap in points is more owed to bad luck (technical issues and some racing incidents that cost him a lot of points but if panned out as planned would have lifted him in front of Nico.Rosberg clearly put more emphasis on qualy and beat the old man fair ans square. He could not translate this advanatage into anything significant on race day..I think they are two top notch gp drivers.

I am afraid that this season is going to be hard for MSC. Just a feeling, and although last year he was faster than Rosberg on race pace, I fear that there might be a shift in Rosberg's favour in 2012. Of course this is contradictory to the claims of Ross Brawn who said that the new Pirelli tyres will probably suit MSC more than the 2011's as they are able to withstand more of his aggressive driving. Any thoughts?

Same here...

From videos i saw...bit strange but Nico was the one driving more agressive...at least im getting that feeling watching them onboard..

The wider the front tire with more grip, the better for Schumacher. I still don't think he has fully come to terms with these more narrow front tires so hopefully these new 2012 spec Pirelli's will be in agreement with him.

Any news about presumable RRH system on their car?
Anyway, did anybody saw W03 in the last couple of tests under(especially heavy)braking?
If I`m not wrong, someone said here that in turn 8 car looked like walking on railways ...

Saw this on autosport forum.
Sportbild:
- one unnamed Merc engineer "we´re on the same level as McLaren, at some point they´re faster, sometimes we are"
- Merc expects itself in Top 3 at Melbourne
- MS struggling more than NR with the high tyre wear, he´s over-driving the car and killing the tyres earlier
- Red Bull is supposed to have a 0,5 sec advantage
If the thing about Schumi is true that "he´s over-driving the car and killing the tyres earlier" then I would say prepare yourself for a another not so good season Schumi fans! :(
