Embarrassment for Raikkonen? The Reborn Grosjean...

Post

Original post from the old thread:
Guys, I have a feeling Kimi will lose to Grosjean this year. Who knows if Kimi is back to full speed.. and Grosjean? He now has that "faster, better, stronger" look in his eye. That Chuck Norris look...

He is going to Push Kimi HARD!!

OK guys let us start anew. No more off topic. This is Rakkonen Vs Grosjean. Not Massa, Not Hamilton, Not Button, and certainly not Alonso. And please try to keep it technical; use your numbers use your facts and lets investigate this interesting driver combination.

Kimi obviously had the pace in earlier practices, but was put off by the feel of his power steering which he did not like. This gave an opening for Grosjean to take the lead and keep it all the way into Q3; surprising many.

I feel we should not write Kimi off yet! A champion is still a champion! The points is what count at the end of the day!

Didnt catch the qualifying coverage but was a bit surprised by the result. Still, qualifying is one thing, sustaining a race and season is another.

We'll see how it pans out

Well, I have to admit that when I was watching the interviews after qualifying, my wife walked past and goes "Is that Chuck Norris?" and I had to explain that no, it wasn't Chuck Norris, but actually a cartoon character named Sideshow Bob who had been brought to life - only he had that Chuck Norris 'look'. I don't know if she really understood, since she just sort of stared at me, but anyway.

So, Kimi sort of sucked. And the kid did well. No denying it. Maybe we should change his nickname to Sideshow Chuck?

not the first time we have seen this scenario , fast car out in Q1
top marks to grosjean , but would be surprised to see him more than a couple of places ahead of kimi at the end , even though kimi is not happy with the steering

6th and 8th maybe?

well he seems not wanting to complain.
Kimi Raikkonen (18th, Q1 - 1m 27.758s)
“Today didn’t go quite as planned. There’s no issue with the car; I made a mistake and there was a communication issue so the timing wasn’t right to get another lap. It cost us a good qualifying position but that’s how it goes sometimes. We should have easily been in Q2. It’s not the best start but we’ll try to put it right in the race. There’s plenty of speed in the car. The steering was fine. It’s not perfect for exactly what I want but it doesn’t affect my driving. For sure we can do better than 18th tomorrow so we’ll have to see what happens.”
For Sure!!

It will be interesting to hear people if Renault can´t provide "the perfect steering" for Kimi.

Will he also get the same imaginary thoughts as Trulli did?

Kimi starting 17th with a fast car. Suzuka all over again. =D>

The difference between Trulli and Kimi is that Kimi will deal with it. He's had --- cars before and just deals with it and makes the best of it without complaining. The only people that complained about Kimi's steering issue were reporters and journalists asking questions about it. He never mentioned it himself until asked.

It's Kimi's character not to complain, I think he is just not race sharp as yet. I'm a sprinting fan, and sometimes you see guys run fast times in the heats, but when it comes to the finals they don't have that "race sharpness." It's something that they get only by racing. Maybe I'm wrong, but i think it could be the case with Kimi.

Yea the sponsor is Lotus but the team are Renault guys dressed in Lotus livery.
car designed by former Renault.
So you can´t exactly be that anal for a minor thing like that.

At the end of 2009, the Renault car company sold a 75% stake in the team to the Genii Capital investment company.[1] At the end of 2010, Renault sold its remaining 25% share to Genii, which then decided to enter into an alignment with Group Lotus.

Now no ... anal is not a technical term 'analyzing' team nomenclature. For instance, I reserve it as a request. A surprising number of women answer yes.

none of these guys work for renault , they are not renault guys therefore
