grid penalty for kimi ....can he qualify high enough to overtake grosjean in the race ? one outing doesn't get all the rust off

I see that the gearbox change was due to overheating during the race in OZ
seems he collected grass and dirt in the gearbox cooling when he avoided the accident at the beginning of the race

Brilliant race from kimi. He is just as sharp as before. This season is so much more exciting with him around to challenge the front runners.

what's going to happen if he gets a bit of GOOD luck ?
I see his total experience of these wet tyre pre-race was ....an installation lap !!!

feel a bit sorry for grosjean , am sure he really isn't as bad as he looks at the moment ; can't be easy having kimi a your team mate , bet he is wishing for alonso back

Yeah, it's a bit of a shame that the only person Grosjaen is embarrassing at the moment is himself.

Well, and Eric Boullier. Still, I hope he picks things up a bit for the sake of his team :)

Two races two first lap crashes. Not a good start

The thread is still fresh for debate though, as in most cases grosjean does seem to have the raw pace.
His race ability isn't in question either as we haven't seen him get good enough race time.
I think in a dry race with 10 laps gone and the field stretched a bit, Grosjean will outpace kimi.
For Sure!!

The first mistake in Australia was a little dumber, but today he just lost the back in an F1 car in the wet. It wasn't even that big of a moment, but with MS on the ragged edge of traction, all it took was that little tap.

It might not have even been a moment, just a usual exit throttle rotation.

Maybe they should ask Mark Webber!

When you're in traffic it's all about awareness and perception and Raikkonen has been surprisingly on song in that regard. Michael Schumacher had numerous crashes when he came back.

Astonishing performance today really. He had no experience whatsoever of those wet Pirelli tyres. Still managed to look unhappy at the end as well.

It at least gives us confidence that he didn't come back to F1 just to drive the car.

He is showing us he has the drive to be a successful F1 pilot.

It looks very he'll take at least one podium this year if as he says, he gets to have a "normal weekend" without and grid drop of qualifying dramas of the past two races.

I think it is a certainty Raikkonen will be on the podium before the end of the season, and I am willing to bet he'll bag at least one win this season, too.

I'm happy to see him back in F1. The sport needs a character like him.

I can't wait for what he'll do at places like Spa and Monaco...
