Should Spa and the French GP at Paul Ricard alternate?

Yes, it would be good to have the French GP back.

No, I want Spa every year regardless of the French GP taking place.

... for the fans. As for the corporate people who actually pay for F1, its an awkward out dated backwater in the middle of a forest.

Corporations in their majority do not pay for F1, fans do by watching adverts and paying subscriptions. Bernie takes most of the money from TV stations which is eventually generated by the fans.

The corporations in their majority pay for TV exposure which they get from races that are watched by more fans. So their interest ultimately is also to get race venues that are loved by the fans.
Formula One's fundamental ethos is about success coming to those with the most ingenious engineering and best .............................. organization, not to those with the biggest budget. (Dave Richards)

The corporate people who actually pay for F1 wouldn't pay for F1 without the fans. Somebody's gotta buy their wares.

If someone said to me that you can have three wishes, my first would have been to get into racing, my second to be in Formula 1, my third to drive for Ferrari.

they recently upgraded the track facilities didn't they? anyways, I think they can get themselves on track, its a much loved place, I imagine if they play their cards right they can be in a good enough financial position to hold the race every year.

I think the facilities nearby should be adequate, considering nurburgring is even farther from any major urban centers.

I am really shocked by Paul coming back to the calendar. I appreciate that track as a fantastic, ultra-modern test track, but as a race track it is horrible. It was not even designed to hold any race events when it was re-built. There are just a couple of grandstand, but the real problem is that the track is very narrow, there is no chance for overtake, the whole area is an asphalt terrain. The environment is nothing, there are just fences hanging aroung the whole circuit.

Magny-Course is a beautiful track with incredible fast bends and the last chicane is so diffucult to get right due to the high kerbs. I really like that circuit. (Michael and Kimi were the masters on that track.)
I know nowdays the money is all what counts.

Spar is the fruit of the circuits its the most fascinating track in the calender ,
and this paul ricard has ridiculous amount of run off areas ,it cant be a proper f1 track unless they put gravel traps and some walls :D to spice things up .

France moves closer to return to Formula 1 calendar
The French Grand Prix's return to the Formula 1 calendar is expected to move a step closer on Friday, with the country's Prime Minister Francois Fillon planning to make an announcement at Paul Ricard about the event.
So, how much does Ecclestone owe himself?

I think circuits should be included like the teams are in the "historical" monetary gain every year. So Spa would be one, Monaco, Monza, Silverstone, Brazil. They should all be kept and should have a smaller fee because of the heritage they represent and all the amazing races they have given us.

Spa should be given the European GP slot and subsidised by whoever sorts out the European GP

If they're willing to pay for Valencia....

I've said before that I don't think it would be at all out of line for Spa to have a gratis contract for its race just like Monaco. Being (what might as well be called) the consensus fan/driver favorite should count for something.
