:? I may be paranoid but did'nt it look like a setup? Honestly, I have heard so many rumours about Italy being involved in some sort of setup scandal or something like that but after watching todays boring final I thought it was a setup lol.

Viera, Henry and Zidance sneaked away I guess lol.....

Massive Corruption etc etc lol I dont know

Maybe he doesn't want to be remembered as a great footballer?

I wonder if the italian dude provoked him and zidane, knowing that this was his last game, decided to not let him go unpunished.

Whatever the reason for Zidane's headbutt, he will still go down as one of the greatest players in the last 10-20 years. Ronaldinho still has a long way to go to achieve the same level as zidane did.

If you look at the replay you can see that Zidane is held back by the italian player, then the two of them talk and Zidane is smiling, as Zidane ran off the Italians mouth can be seen moving again, at which point Zidane turns around with a sturn face and head-butts the player.

SOMETHING MUST have been said to make Zidane's mood switch like that. Whatever it was I bet the Italian deserved it - not that that excludes Zidane from any blame - he shouldn't have done it end of.

yeah i am guessing what was said was Pure filth. Maybe something to do with his mother and a goat?

Its not a good way to end your career.

Other than that it was a good match for somebody who does not care who wins. Was really odd i was working on the door of my bar and we had a load of italian school kids in another part of the building, They Went Mental.

Doesn't matter what the Italian said, Zidane's actions were inexcusable.

I'd like to know how Zidane gets the Golden Ball after all this. His exclusion probably cost his side the match!

Yeah... I know, and yeah, that behaviour shouldn't be tolerated, but you can't exactly just blame Monsieur Zidane totally.

I've heard several rumours about what the Italian guy said, but by far the one I've heard the most involved calling Zidane's mother a 'whore', and given that his mother was apparantly ill at the time, I feel some sympathy for the guy.

He is still in many eyes the man of the tournament, and that's probably true.

obviously the italian guy told something but in that level of proffesionality you can't just hive him a headbutt, specially in a WC final. I just don't agree with zizou reaction and with fifa award

The trouble with the rat-race is that even if you win, you're still a rat.
