Other than the zonda and koenigsegg - would those other cars be quicker than an SLS? I'd think not by much. FWIW IIRC DTM used an R8 as the safety car last year
You're probably right but the 4 wheel drive will be a big advantage in the wet, and that's when you really need a safety car (faster in wet corners means less cold tires). Maybe an mp4-12c would be better. Here's a crazy thought - Ariel Atom v8!!!!!!!!

I could imagine Bernd prefers a roof over his head during nasty weather : )

Why not use a current Indycar? Just to degrade the Americans' prime series some more.
"There is a credit card with the Ferrari logo, issued by Santander, which gives the scuderia a % of purchases made with the card...

I would guess that such a serious amount of money would allow them to ignore the constant complains of a car that was nowhere near as bad as their #1 driver tried to sell throughout the season.

Heck, a car on which Massa finishes in the podium or has to lift so that his teammate finishes ahead (As we saw often in the final races of the year) is, by no means, a "bad" car."

Because IndyCar doesn't sponsor F1...

That would make it an even better move. No reason whatsoever to do it, but still do it to degrade.

What benefit would it bring to Bernie to spend money when right now he gets the safety car for free?

It makes absolutely no business sense. Why make an enemy too?

He said "just to degrade". Hardly any reason to call out the financial implications. And it's a tongue in cheek comment! :D

I had an inkling it might've been tongue in cheek; but in written communication you can never know...

Why would they have a double diffuser and not just one big one? Would it not be more efficient?
