Caterham were very nice & let us in to have a look around their car, McLaren were not so helpful :(

I've a lot of photos on my camera, just need to go through them first & start uploading them.

Thank you for sharing!

Our admin Tomba went to that show a few years back as well, and I think that Principessa had the privilege to get into the seat of an F1 car!

Indeed, visited the event in Rotterdam several times.
Always great spectacle, and very very interesting if you have pit access.

Evidence of this is this gallery of the BGP001: http://www.f1technical.net/gallery/BrawnGP/BGP001

Very interesting! This was the first year in Dublin, sadly the weather was not great but it was a great experience none the less.
I'm mad I didn't have a better camera with me, I'll know for next year.

I did not have pit access, I had Paddock & VIP hospitality though & was out on track as a passenger at the start so saw both sides

It was a great event, pity about the drizzle though! Managed to blag my way into the pitlane during the day and I have to say that the McLaren mechanics were very nice indeed, plenty of time to chat with people and show them around. They even brought out the steering wheel off the car to show to us after Button finished his second run.

Later on when Button had left I was lucky enough to be allowed into the garage for a close up look at the beast. The first thing that struck me was that the cars are quite narrow and very long, and that the 'rocket red' you see in photos and on telly is a LOT more luminous in real life, verging on orange in spots. Also what surprised me was that they were using such a recent car (I thought they had to be two years old?). It was the same chassis that Button won the Canadian Grand Prix in last year(although the front wing was from 2011 I think), so you can imagine how excited I got when I was offered a chance to sit in it! As well all know its a very reclined seating position, but it was surprisingly comfortable. Also I thought it would be a test team or demo team that would be running the cars, but they were the real mechanics. I was chatting the one guy who works on the rear corner of the car, it was cool to hear what its really like to work in F1.

Heres some photos:

I was there too.
weather was terrible but McL was no1 experience.
and here I have all pictures from event/ mostly Paddock and Pit Lane and F1 garage "almost 200 so should be enough :D  "
P.S. for 010010011010 they did bring the steering wheel after I asked that guy   was standing there alone because everybody was leaving and I was still there enjhoying the special moment and asked him about that steering wheel so he came with it and it was like all hell brake arround me   in few seconds at least 30 ppls pushing like crazy   I cant believe that NOBODY asked them only me!? shame that most of them walking in F1 paddock have no interest in it and they were there just to show that they can be there and look important. many ppls who will die for it were left staying outside!!!!! it was VERY VERY F.....D organisation!!

Others were probably overwhelmed just by being next to an F1 car, good for you for going one step further! :D
