we will let the CFD do the talking, and nice images Dom, sidepod flow conditioners.... :D

I've split out most of the recent off topic [rants] to the off topic section so go there if you want to continue the downward spiral for this series.

So having said that, either post your developments or don't, period. But don't complain about it nor argue for pages about it. Deletion of the nonsense would be the course of action if it comes up again.

Hi,

I have the following updates:
-New Headrest
-New FW Main Plane
-Minor bodywork revisions, getting rid of anything which interrupts the flow of the car
-Revised Sidepod flow conditioners

All can be seen from one render? I think...

Also a proposition. Could there be bargeboards next to the gearbox/sidepod transition area?

Thanks for looking,

Dom

there could be but maximum height of 50mm, although what would you gain from adding barge-boards there?

Nope. I really don't get why you would need them if your sidepods flow properly from your splitter.

yes, but it doesn't take long to research what each feature does (in brief) before designing the car, its one of the most major parts of the car if you research it, :D

What do you think of the main plane, and new headrest?

I think the front wing, start from basics,

dont try adding all these fancy features yet until you understand them,

first start off I recommend with a basic wing profile, 2 or 3 elements to begin with and pull it across straight (no curving yet) and create these within the regulation front wing box, with outwash endplates (intersect faces with the endplate and delete the extra bit of wing) and add venturi s on the outer edges of the front wing,

if you run CFD on them you will notice a massive downforce increase if you do this, as at the moment, your front wings will not be making much downforce, but alot of drag, :D

You are designing cars against people who are 3-5 years older and doing pretty well. I think you need a round of applause for that =D>

I've been neglecting this project for a while now so: the fastest way to increase the efficiency of that front wing is to make the slot gap between the mainplane and 1st flap much smaller, there is a big gap just inboard of the tunnels which will be costing you a lot of DF. In the top view you posted earlier it looks like the flaps are actually directly above the mainplane, which could be why the slot looks so large, either way (unless my eyes deceive me) that's where you can find serious improvement.

Also the whole wing is still VERY short chord, which is inefficient and consider widening the cascades. Can I ask why the nose top surface drops sharply near the front bulkhead?
