I personally don't mind. It's obviously a niche game, and its existence doesn't affect me at all. Just as long as Bernie doesn't gain inspiration!

I'm actually looking forward to this game.

I have F1 2012 on pre-order, and seeing this announcement was a nice bonus since we're so short on F1-themed video games.

Whatever type of lunacy they put in this game, it should be fun.

Codemasters needs to develop a brand new engine.

After Forza 4, they are severely lacking.

Edit: I mean that after Forza 4 came out, it became really obvious that Codemasters has been doing a bare minimum with their F1 games. If anything they look worse than the last non-Codemasters F1 game to come out back in I believe 2007 for the PS3.

Polyphony Digital would make an excellent F1 game IMO. I don't want to instigate a Forza - Gran Turismo flame war though. This new game looks pretty fun as well, I loved these cartoon go-kart racing games when I was a kid.

I am 100% sure I will enjoy this game more than the F1 201x games, which are far more laughable than this game. This game will be enjoyable and fun to play, instead of F1 2010/2011 which are a pain in the a$$

Really looking forward to this.
A friend of mine runs hit-reset.co.uk and I write articles for the site from time to time. The website is a sideline to his day job which is working for a big social media company where he gets to meet studio reps and review the latest games, today he was hands on with F1 Race Stars and said it was shaping up to be a brilliant game. It plays just like Mario Kart but has an F1 skin and F1 inspired weapons and power-ups. Bernie's rain during races idea has been reproduced as an in-game weapon
The tracks are licensed, races start on the actual start grid but as can be seen in the trailer above things soon get wild with big loops etc.
There is also talk of DLC with classic cars and drivers.

I personally look forward to it alot, I hope it is more like Crash Team Racing than mario kart, I miss that game , I certainly will buy it
