Well, you're the only person on the planet that thinks they're holes with no slit.

Agreed.

sometimes I don´t get what people are prepared to accept as ok .
Anything that´s happening just for the purpose of meeting the WORDING of the regs but in this circumventing the meaning of the rule is a cheat in my view .Legal ,ok but you have to consider the rule was only ever devised to avoid what people are doing in sticking to the wording of the rule.
All that BS about spirit of the rules ...you can clearly see they take the regs and wade through it trying to find loopholes-room for "creative "interpretation.

Back then -the ruling was :you could add all sorts of fluids during the race and afterwards as the car needed to be compliant to the weight limit filled up. - and it was common practise to have considerable water tanks for brake cooling or water injection whatever .Tyrrell interpreted even more than that filling up the tank with ballast in a late splashg and dash..
Well ..we are all cheats ..in NASCAR there is a wall of shame ..in every race they find someone guilty of infringements ...

I do understand, I truly do. However I think there is a distinction. Finding a loophole that you can talk your way out of is smart and any team, I mean any team, will try to do that. It's completely legal and within the confines of the rules everyone (key word) can play too. Other teams can do exactly the same thing. It's called an advantage. Using a banned component that can't be talked out of - is cheating and probably gets a penalty. Yes, it's a fine line, but a line nonetheless,

I certainly believe no one in motorsports does carry a white collar ,most certainly things are illegal and even those who committed the crime never realised...don´t forget not everything you do or handle is under your full control.
