DeltaWing Submits 2014 Indy Lights Proposal

SPEED.com has confirmed the DeltaWing's oversight group, comprised of its designer, Ben Bowlby, Dan Gurney's All American Racers, ALMS founder and Elan Technologies owner Don Panoz, IndyCar, NASCAR and GRAND-AM team owner Chip Ganassi and Highcroft Racing owner Duncan Dayton, has joined the array of constructors vying for the the contract to supply the new-for-2014 Indy Lights car.

In addition to DeltaWing via Elan Technologies, California's Swift Engineering has also submitted a proposal to supply the 2014 car, along with Italy's Dallara, France's Mygale, and a few brand-new entities that have been formed specifically to submit an Indy Lights bid.

Really though, it should be anything BUT the Delta Wing in my opinion. For drivers and engineers working in Lights to try to get up to Indy Pro... only makes sense to have a platform there in the feeder series that's at least SIMILAR to the top level stuff.

Let's make a guess here after the 'farce' on the duel for the Indycar chassis. I guess Dallara gets this one, and most likely that is already decided. We all know what happened when a similair situation was there in the Indycars, no doubt the same choice will be made in the Indy Lights.

INDYCAR: Dyson-Led Group Submits 2014 Indy Lights Proposal

The interest surrounding the 2014 Indy Lights car continues to grow as a new constructor has stepped forward to submit a chassis and engine proposal.

SPEED.com's sources have confirmed that a group led by Dyson Racing, along with a collection of ex-Lola employees, have entered the running to supply a car it has dubbed the "Hulman" in honor of Tony Hulman and the Hulman George family that owns both the Indianapolis Motor Speedway and the IZOD IndyCar Series.

If the Hulman HGIL014, which bears some resemblance to Lola's 2012 IndyCar renderings, is accepted by the series as the new 2014 Indy Lights car, the chassis would contain state-of-the-art design, the latest technologies and would be manufactured in North America.

Through the Dyson's controlling interest in the UK-based Advanced Engine Research company, the same Mazda-badged 2.0-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder engine used in the team's championship-winning ALMS LMP1 program would be offered as part of the Hulman chassis package.

INDYCAR: Herta, Newey, Mygale Submit Indy Lights Bid

Interest in the new 2014 Firestone Indy Lights Series car continues to build as IndyCar/Indy Lights team owners Bryan Herta and Steve Newey have entered the fray.

Through their Bryan Hera Autosport outfit, the partners have served as the American importer for the popular French Mygale chassis (pronounced ‘Mee-Gal’), and hope to turn the Formula F, F2000 and Formula 3 constructor into chassis of choice for the Lights series.

Whelp... no idea if why the DeltaWing constantly tries to push itself into IndyCar. It works better as an LMP2 entry if you ask me.
