Right, but Algesuari saying "only a short while before you find out who I'm driving for next year" suggests he's already agreed a drive, so it sounds like that drive could well be FI.multisync wrote:I think he suggested it was 'in the mix' there are other domino's to fall first before that happens..beelsebob wrote:So EJ says... I reed this differntly.Alonso says Massa should only be replaced by a stronger driver ,and he does not really see the ones on the -ferrari list as stronger performers than massa.Nando wrote:He just said as well that if Massa leaves then they need to find a stronger driver then Massa.
Did i say Massa was weak? I said they wanted a stronger driver then Massa.marcush. wrote:I reed this differntly.Alonso says Massa should only be replaced by a stronger driver ,and he does not really see the ones on the -ferrari list as stronger performers than massa.Nando wrote:He just said as well that if Massa leaves then they need to find a stronger driver then Massa.
It´s not at all saying massa is weak.
I think that's a poor idea. Understandable that Heikki would want to go to another team. He's been driving really hard but the car just hasn't improved as much as it ought to. However, switching to a completely new lineup means that there's no continuity regarding performance, data, and team dynamics. The only team that's worked for is Lotus, but Grosjean has driven for old Lotus, Kimi is a solid driver and former WDC, and Lotus has a pretty solid car. Caterham will have none of these if they have a completely new line-up.ESPImperium wrote:New rumors suggest that Caterham may have Buemi fill Heikkis seat if he leaves for another team.
However this will result in a new lineup at Caterham with Buemi and Van Der Garde. Van Der Garde is widley tipped to take a seat for at leat 4 of the next 6 GP and at least 2 of the 3 days at Abu Dhabi for Caterhams Young Driver Test. Alex Rossi will most probably take the last of the 3 days at Abu Dhabi and posibly a GP at Austin, or a FP1 session at least.
Also Max Chilton will take at least one FP1 drive, if not a couple more before the end of the season to prepair him for a 2013 race seat as Pic is gone.

I might have misinterpreted ..clearly alonso thinks none of the candidates fills that bill.Nando wrote:Did i say Massa was weak? That doesn´t automatically mean Massa is weak. It would have been different if i had said, they needed to find a strong driver.
