Future of Schumacher

Post

Well guys, looks like it's time to discuss the future of Michael Schumacher, the seven time world champion.

It is now almost announced that Hamilton replace him at Mercedes next year (2013) and it means Schumacher can not continue to close a circle that he has started three years ago.

Or can he in another team? Maybe Peter Sauber will sign him and give him a number one position in his team?

What are the prospects?

This.

Schumacher just has to quit F1 and do something else. These 3 years with Mercedes were quite dramatic, to say the least.

He could do wonders for the Sauber team in terms of sponsorship and technical development, not to mention he still has good pace. I hope he considers it, although it does seem very unlikely.

I am officially withdrawing my support for Mercedes.
(Unless and only if MS stays with them as a driver.)

I have opposite feelings about this news.

While I am very happy to see Norbert and Ross (and maybe Niki Lauda) have convinced Lewis to join the fledging Mercedes-AMG F1 team. I am also very sad to see Schumacher get dumped. I hope he will have a place in the management team. Schumacher deserves better, not just better treatment, but they should have given him a better car no less!

I'm totally surprised to see Perez joining McLaren though. I don't think he's ready. Ability-wise, I would rate him as a Massa+5%, nothing spectacular. I would have taken Paul di Resta and may have even taken a chance on Gary Paffett.

Yes LdM, call Michael NOW!!!!

But to be fair, Massa has reinvented himself over the last few races.
