Why would either be forced to change? You can still tell them apart by the color of the camera mount and the car number.

Have there been any other teams that have had two drivers with same colored helmets?
Closest i can come up with was schumi/rosberg at Spa.

Numbers... Yea maybe in still shots if even there.
Stickers on cameras works sometimes when they are going slow but for me the first thing i look at his the color of the helmet.

Im not so sure both will run yellow helmet next year.

There was no hint of yellow in Singapore...

But anyway, they just keep the color and the team paints the T-cam, like RB & JB had.

Standing still there's a great difference but at 180mph it's the same really.
And i watch F1 in 1080i top quality.

Hamilton's helmet might be a clue. (Singapore)

The yellows are quite a different shade. I've seen them both whiz past on track, and they're very different shades. Rosberg's is very pale, Hamilton's is quite a saturated color, and don't forget Lewis has the red and green bands there, whereas Nico has a grey body to the helmet.

The two helmets currently look similar at 1mph with different sponsors - at 150 they will be hard to distinguish, especially when coming down long straights. Rosberg's design doesn't appear particularly sentimental and I suspect he will change it, maybe invert the silver and yellow colours. I hope he completely changes it - it is a very boring design.

Rosberg's (Nico) helmet is based upon Rosberg's (Keijo) helmet design. In fact along design terms, they are practically identical, albeit Nico's is a slightly more modern twist on his father's. Before the Mercedes drive Nico's helmet was very visibly a descendant of his father's. The lineage is quite clear here, though the color scheme is slightly different (one with a blue ceiling, one with a yellow ceiling):

His current is basically the same, except the blue has been replaced with grey.

I thought there might be a connection to his father's design, but aside from the colours, I couldn't see it at a glance(his father's is pretty featureless). His current helmet is a little different to the one you have posted, or is this a previous iteration?:


I really don't like it and the resemblance to his Father's is a bit weak to me. A lot of room for improvement.

It is very easy to distinguish which driver is in which car by the camera mount on the top. End of story.
