Pretty harsh judgement on the Iceman. This is his first year back.

like you say kimi keeps his nose out of trouble. His like Alonso in that respect which is why you'd easily get the WCC. Alonso and Kimi are both the most consistent drivers on the grid and not in the fastest cars, but there still 1st and 3rd.

Grosjeans first year back as well you have to remember, after a brief stint in Renault two years ago.
I guess I just expected Kimi to blow the socks of Grosjean in all departments this year, certainly his experience has counted but Grosjean has out qualified him in most races.

Very true.

There is a difference though, Alonso has been in a worse car than Kimi for most the season, and Alonso comfortably out qualifies his team mate.

Kimi is a very clean racer though, something that he seems to have improved since he came back. I don't remember him being in any incidents this year.

Pace doesn´t win you championships :)

honestly he could be 15 seconds faster then anyone else, it would not matter as everyone would wave past him when he sits in the barrier.

Look at Kimi. Not a single win and he´s right up there. Special driver no doubt.

When Grosjean matures though, and gains the experience of Kimi we may be talking about something quite different.

I don't follow. What's a "pseudo-comparison?"
Look at Hamilton/Alonso = equal
Look at Alonso/Vettel = x
Look at Hamilton/Vettel = pseudo comparison with Alonso as yard stick.

For example if Alonso wrecks Vettel like he did Massa then we can get a clearer picture on how it would look with VET/HAM in the same car.
Would you say Lewis hasnt improved since his debut year? I think every driver will make his largest improvements in the first 2 years of being in formula 1.

Although this year Alonso has looked amazing at times, We can all say he has benefited hugely from others driving unreliable cars. I mean , If Vettel hadnt broke down in Valencia he would be currently leading the championship!
Basically, before this year, no one was banging on about how Alonso is the greatest driver by far, So I think people may be getting a little caught up in the moment.
I would put Lewis just infront of Alonso, as i think, If Lewis & Alonso were team mates in the RB7 last year, Lewis would have wont the title. Seb is unknown as he hasnt shared a car with these 2.

Im not so sure Grosjean is the faster driver..
We know Kimi still has problems with the steering, they asked him not too long ago at the press conf and he said it was useless to talk about it.

Same with Trulli and Kova, many thought Trulli was finished when in reality it was power steering problems.
(He beat him the year prior, then was mysteriously half a second on average behind)

Kimi doesn't talk about this sort of stuff but i think it definitely is there.

No not really, Hamilton was strong as hell even in his first year. If anything he's lost it slightly.

I dont know about others but ive rated Alonso the absolute best since 2010.

It is the same for everybody though. It perhaps means he is less adaptable.

The BBC are asserting that Ferrari are choosing between DiResta, Hulkenburg and Massa, frankly either of the other two moving to Ferrari to replace Massa would make Ferrari have very clearly the strongest driver lineup of the top teams.

Im not sure you can say Di Resta/Hulkenberg are clearly better than Rosberg. Most will say theres nothing in it between Lewis & Alonso. So it comes down to Rosberg vs Di Resta/Hulk

I personally, have never rated Rosberg highly, he's a great number 2 driver, much like Barichello was, but he's not amazing. I'm not convinced completely by DiResta or Hulkenberg, but both of them have shown a spark of something that Rosberg's never shown in my book.

An article in Autosport PLUS (the paid subs section) is saying Paul has declined because Ferrari is apparently only looking to do a 1-year deal. The same article says that Hulkenberg doesn't care it's only a one-year deal, he's just jumping at the opportunity of a top drive in order to put himself on the top driver radar.

Does sound like Vettel is certain for 2014! How great will that be to see! Hulkenberg should go, chance to win a race, and if Vettel is to head to ferrari for 2014, and Webber getting older, their could be 2 seats in an Adrian Newey car available! So Shop window for Hulkenberg!
