Post

Apparently Juan pablo Montoya and wife Connie have just had their second baby after son Sebastian. Daughter Paulina is believed to have been born on Monday 11th September 2006.

Congratulations to all of them.

And the NASCAR stockers will give him a little more comfort until he gets his figure back.

Seriously, congradulations to the Montoya family, children are a joy beyond measure.

I quote, from NASCAR.com:

"At Iowa on Saturday, Rusty Wallace was there testing the 64 Busch Series car that he owns. So evidently for kicks, Wallace got behind the wheel of Montoya's Nextel Cup Series car. The story, according to those who were there, is that Montoya was faster than Rusty -- consistently faster. Again speed won't be the problem."

Congratulations, JPM!

From gp.com:
"Juan Pablo Montoya has qualified second for the ARCA RE/MAX Series race at Talladega, behind veteran Bobby Gerhart, who lapped the track at 189.485mph. Montoya's speed was 189.451 mph - an impressive start for an oval racing newcomer.

The race will take place later today."
I have to add that this feat was accomplished on a car that does not win a race since 2002.

Montoya's comments on the small feat:
"Qualifying here makes your life easy," the former Indianapolis 500 champion said. "It makes you look really good, because you were flat (out) the whole time. They told me come out of the pits and just floor it and run as high as you can. And when you've got to start the second lap, just aim at the apron and stay low.

"That's all you've got to do."
"That's all": sure, it must be easy, piece of cake. OMG, I am so proud... I am not going to miss this race.

Hopefully JPM will show american audiences how much more talent open wheel racing requires than NASCAR.
