Thing is, Murray is right in a way.

Koenigsegg can make a car that almost matches the Veyron SuperSport, and this uses an inhouse developed V8.
It is also faster to 300km/h and is quicker still in the 0-300-0 test.
People can say that the Veyron will be the last of the great fast dinosaurs, but so long as their are engineers with a pioneering spirit, and some people with cash to burn, we will see the Veyron bested.

And Murray's ethos was always about lightweight cars. They Veyron goes against the very fabric of this. Any how this is a bit off topic....So back on topic.
Porsche are bringing out a new "chelsea tractor" based on the Audi Q5, although apparently Audi where amazed with what Porsche could actually do to the design.
I sourced this from Autocar, and have bolded the interesting bit...
Wolfgang Hatz said that the Macan, which is due to be revealed at next year’s Frankfurt show, is “not a Q5 with a Porsche hat on”.
“Everything has been modified,” said Hatz. “Engines, transmissions, suspension — it’s all new. Audi can’t believe what we’ve done.”
He added that “Audi should have no fears” about the Macan stealing sales from it “as the customers are so different”.
Hatz confirmed that the Macan would be the first modern-day Porsche to have four-cylinder engines in its line-up. “Not from the beginning, but in the medium to longterm, for sure,” he said.
Audi and Porsche in the same Formula would work, they have a different client base and it sort of already happens at Le Mans albeit in different classes.

The Koennigsegg and the Ultimate Aero are just racing cars with indicators. The Veyron is so much more elegant, better looking and distinctive, has a much nicer interior and engine bay, etc. To think it has all these features, yet is still one of the fastest cars in the World (the Super Sport version I don't like as much) is very impressive, to me at least.

The Ultimate Aero is a kit car. Anyone can build that crap.

Koenigsegg is now officially it´s own brand, a true car designer/producer.

The Bugatti Veyron is not competing with the above in anything other then top speed.
It´s much more of a complete package then the rockets above, it´s designed to do it all and then some.
