Just saw in local news that they are retaliating problems with Indian government when the Italian navy accidentally killed some local fishermen in Indian coast early this year

What has that to do with formula one and racing???
This is pathetic behavior by them
I have been a tifosi for12 years now
I have lost complete respect in them
This is just pathetic
Do you remember what happened in 2001, after the Twin Towers fell? For one race, the Scuderia deleted all sponsorship from cars' livery and ran them with black noses. Well, you should have stopped being a Tifoso since then (according to your own logic)
i think you dont know what really happened!

What really happend was there an italian ship near indian coast, and there were some INNOCENT fishermen who have wifes and children at home, to catch some fish to provide food for their family......the italian ship shot and killed those fishermen with snipper guns! Mistaken them for terrorists!! So the indian govt captured their ship and put them behind bars.

The italian ship's captain claimed they were in international waters and they dont have to abide by indian rules, but infact they were on indian terrotary. This actually took place just few km from my home in kerala

i dont know why FERRARI F1 TEAM has to show that they support the people who killed two of my coutry men!

What has 9/11 got to do with this??!!! they should support the innocent people who were killed here.
if Ferrari had painted their car with Binladen's photo in 2001 Moza then i would have stopped supporting them

Putting the navy flag on their car is really a bad move by Ferrari in my opinion. Telling afterwards that it was not supposed to have a political meaning is even worse.

IMO it's Monty putting up a political power play again. Like how he plastered the Italian tricolore on the rear wing of the F150, and called it the F150 to commemorate 150 years of Italian unification or somesuch.

Looks like the car ain't that fast but it seems from Alonso's comments they might be bringing something in the next few races?

At introduction the F2012 was a flawed design. The tech team did a good job getting it competitive, but their achievement was merely to get the car to the level it should have been at introduction. It seems (from my non-tech perspective) that the design may be close to the end of its development cycle, that only radical changes will bring significant improvement.

Or is it simpler than that? Is it just that the Ferrari technical team lacks the ability to compete with Newey and his team? I see Ferrari as an excellent technical team and RBR as an excellent technical team led by a genius. Result is a foregone conclusion.

One could say the f2012 was born with significant flaws and Ferrari worked hard to improve and so they did .
It may well be they simply did not understand their own design fully at the start of the season as it is a big departure from previous designs -so not much carry over from experience of last years .
Also they had a new captain in Pat Fry .
so maybe they just find out these days what they already knew for years but failed to understand:their tools are not up to the task these days it takes too long to get a handle on a new design -so their development success is based on experience made with the actual car but this also stops at one point when the resolution of the tools at hand does not offer help for further refinements....so the logical step for them was to start afresh ..instead of improving the tool so you can find the last little fractions of performance.

I think Ferrari are awake and are doing what they can.

If this whole wind tunnel thing is true then that's been their Achilles heels now for the last couple of years. If you need 1 word to sum up Ferrari's season it would be wind-tunnel.

Funny Wind-tunnels should be a cost saving venture I wonder how many parts Ferrari have scrapped? How much money would have been saved if we'd add a couple more in season tests before specific GPs on a Thursday or by lengthening the practice sessions?

What is very interesting about the India Race is the long straight that comes in the first sector after a slow speed turn. What makes it interesting is that Red bull speed trap numbers (on that long straight) are 7 KPH slower than Mclaren and 8 KPH slower than Ferrari. These numbers are from qualifying where RB takes advantage of the DDRS. So at the start of the race (more specifically that first lap) they'll not have the DDRS and have a motor with less power than Ferrari and McLaren. I'll be watching the speed trap number on that first lap. We need someone to get in front of them on that first lap and slow them down in the 2nd and 3ird sectors.

If not then Strategy 2 would be stick within 1 second before the opening of the DRS.

I'm not sure what the effects all that fuel will have on the on the 3 cars. I'm inclined to believe that the lower top speed of RB means they're running more downforce and more importantly a higher gear ratio. The higher gear ratio should allow them to accelerate quicker while being offset by the extra downforce.

The other edge that Ferrari has over the other 2 cars is tire wear. It is significantly better that McLaren and slightly better than RedBull. RedBull only tends to have problem when it's hot and on race day, it will be hot!

Newey is a challenge! There is no doubt there. It isn't the first time his cars have dominated, it did take some time to get his RB where they are, So lets not write off Fry.

I fail to see why. Part of Ferrari's problem, and that of other teams, is clarity over who does what. You've got Tombazis there, Fry coming in and then Rory Byrne back in there doing I don't know what. Personally, I would have made Tombazis technical director and told him to concentrate completely on getting the best car together and getting everything out of his way to do it. It's a back to basics exercise, and that's what Newey has at Red Bull. Tombazis has good track record and I believe any technical head should have a good background predominantly in aerodynamics. He has that. Pat Fry - I really don't know what qualifies him to be in the position he's in.

Too late now. Ferrari had their chance when they won those races earlier in the season and Red Bull were struggling to get what they had really working well. That's when they really needed to get whatever ideas they had on the car and give themselves several races to work at it. In one sector alone today Ferrari were losing a good half second to Red Bull. That just can't be made up now.

Apparently Alonso told in an interview that only a small update package was introduced in India and bigger update packages will be introduced in upcoming races.

It is very interesting to hear/read about it but I would not hold my breath for it. It's been the same since Suzuka, lots of talk of many but very little to be actually seen. But the new diffuser seemed to be working well, which might bode well for whatever parts/updates they bring. It's squeaky bum time now, with only 3 races to go, and all "RedBull" tracks I hope Ferrari can delay/overhaul [-o< the increasingly inevitable.

I suppose he has to say that, and he came out with a few other soundbites, but it's still too late. When you introduce anything major on to a car then you need several races before you get anything substantial out of it. If they wanted to win championships then all of what they currently have planned should have been on the car several races ago.

He's pulled another result out of the bag today has Alonso, but the championship is now going to be won on speed - car and driver. It's not going to be won with the rearguard action Alonso was describing when he had a large points lead.
