How would an optimum device for wake cleaning look like?

Lowe revealed that the teams have already decided that tightening exhaust restrictions further next year is unnecessary and would only push up expenditure ahead of the major regulations shake-up in 2014, when the new V6 turbo engines are set to feature a single, central exhaust.
“It has been discussed at the TWG (Technical Working Group) whether there should be a further constraint this winter,” he confirmed. “All the teams agreed that it wasn’t necessary or appropriate, and to keep developing for another year with sight of 2014 when it will all change again anyway. One of the big drivers of cost is change itself, so if you were to change the rules and change them again it would only cause teams to incur further costs.” Link
The only significant changes I know of areJimClarkFan wrote:Are there any major revised changes to the regulations next season? Or do we expect to see the more or less the same regs until 2014?
I remember people talking same things in 2011 regarding 2012 rule changes. As it turned out, changes had massive effect on downforce levels with no ebd and further wings stifness and flex constraints. The end result was RB loosing more than 2s in quali in Australia compared to 2011 (RB was the most obvious car) and on other tracks. 2011 monza pole 1:22.2 - 2012 pole 1:24.0.beelsebob wrote:The only significant changes I know of areJimClarkFan wrote:Are there any major revised changes to the regulations next season? 1) Covers allowed over the top of the step noses.
2) no secondary effects of DRS.
3) No use of DRS outside the DRS zone even in practice and qualifying.
I expect cornering speeds to be significantly up on last year due to the teams having had an entire year of getting their exhausts tuned to all hell.Juzh wrote:I remember people talking same things in 2011 regarding 2012 rule changes. Now with no unlimited ddrs things are gonna get even worse. Though i expect cornering speeds to stay about the same as this year.
In contrast, I don't remember anyone claiming that banning EBD would not have a significant effect on downforce. In fact, it was the primary goal of the ban. As well as to stop the trend of more and more peculiar design solutions.Juzh wrote: I remember people talking same things in 2011 regarding 2012 rule changes. Red Bull and Toro Rosso were already made to separate their design teams, and stop sharing aero data, but there's probably near no regulation you could actually do to stop them moving over for each other on track.Ludus wrote:Hi everyone,
i think that everyone knows about Toro Rosso and Red Bull have the same founder, Dietrich Mateschitz. After what happens in Abu Dhabi and Interlagos (Toro Rosso leave the road to the Red Bull cars even like a lapped car do), i'm asking myself what the regulation says about team cooperation.
i know that is illegal have more than 2 cars for team, but red bull is as if has it in this way.
what do you think about ?
