F1 Facts !

Post

Hi guys & girls

I run a small company called cutting EDGE carbon of witch specialises I'm carbon fibre life style products.

That aside every week we have a Friday facts day on our twitter page @EDGEcarbon that we cover cool facts about loads of different sports with carbon fibre in.

This week I wanted to do a F1 facts friday and wondered if any of you know of some cool and interesting facts about F1, preferably with a composites base but if not any cool facts would do.

Any help would be greatly received.

1)On average F1 teams spend more on hookers than Snickers.

2)Pit lane crews are forbidden from wearing makeup.

3)Carbon fibre can kill you, or at least give you a very nasty disease.

At least one of the above is true.

Why troll Greg? You do this all the time when someone starts a thread that you have a problem with. If you have nothing nice to say or nothing constructive, perhaps try saying nothing at all.

Here's some basics that I can help with:

• Carbon fibre had been used in F1 cars previously, starting with the Hill GH1, raced by Graham Hill in 1975, which used it for rear wing supports.

More info on Carbon Fibre chassis here: http://www.f1fanatic.co.uk/2011/07/03/m ... lutionary/

Edit: Parky, maybe don't spruke your business here as I think its against the forum rules. Try to add some of your own facts first, then people usually are more willing to join in - it gives people an ida of what you want and people are more likely to assist if they see you making an effort. And, as you can see, there are just some members who act like a c0ck, which for some, seems fitting.

Indeed haha.

Thank you to the op for starting the topic, hopefully this thread can get the ball rolling and more interesting fun facts appear :)
If someone said to me that you can have three wishes, my first would have been to get into racing, my second to be in Formula 1, my third to drive for Ferrari.

Parky - you're probably in a great position to educate the Forum about Carbon Fibre in general. Perhaps you can give some general facts about Carbon Fibre - pricing, grades, strengths etc. I for one would love to know more about it from someone who actually uses it, instead of members that just 'speculate' for the sake of it - as indeed, there's nothing funny about that.
