To be honest this year the best midfield team is probably Force India, in terms of drivers. Force India is just about the slowest of the midfield cars (except for Toro Rosso) but they're holding their own due to more consistent drivers. Had Sauber already been fielding Hulkenberg this year, I can't help but feel that they would already be 5th in the WCC, and maybe Hulkenberg could have popped in that Malaysia win (Hulkenberg is mega in the wet - he's been outqualifying Di Resta by 1.5s in Silverstone and 1.4s in Hockenheim, not to mention Brazil 2010)

Personally, i'd like to see Christian Klien back in F1. On his last stint with HRT, he was doing better than (then) regular Bruno Senna. Times have changed since CK drove on regular basis. I wonder how much speed he'd bring if he were put in the mid-field team like Sauber, Williams, Force India and/or Toro Rosso.

Just a thought.

The Alguersuari @ HRT rumours are due to him being spanish IMHO. From what I heard, there is some personal difficulty between him and someone at HRT. Supposedly he signed with FI already but in this Silly Season I'm not going to believe anything before it's announced.

Sorry if this has already been brought up, but what do we think about Davide Valsecchi's chances? Every GP2 champions has made it to F1 at one time or another but I've heard nothing about Valsecchi being linked, even with a test drive.

Probably got no money to bring and so the door is closed.

To memory, if a champion takes 3 years (or more) to champion GP2, they generally don't get a drive. Pastor Maldonado's generous Venezuelan money not included. Pantano redid GP2 to rebuild his F1 shot, but that didn't do much good...

every GP2 Champion is worthy of an F1 drive.

I'm not saying they don't. But history shows that if a GP2 champ takes more than 3 years to reach the title they don't get a drive. The only one to get a drive under such circumstances has been Maldonado

If he brings a lot of money then the personal difficult goes away :)

Vijay Mallaya said that if Nico was to leave Force India, Adrian Sutil would be one of the drivers considered.

To be honest I think that was just to quiet down those who were saying he should take Karthikeyan

There were some murmurs from the Speed guys during the race about Hulkenberg going to Mclaren instead of Perez. Something along those lines.

Don't see it. McLaren reneging on a recently announced deal?

Haha, funny guys. They have confirmed him.

About Valsecchi, he will drive for Lotus one day during the YDT in Abu Dhabi, but I think he has no chance to get a seat for next year.

Robin Frijns, the WSR FR3.5 Champion in his first year, will drive for Sauber and RBR in Abu Dhabi. I expect Sauber will sign him as a test driver in 2013.

With the GP2 champions we've seen in Formula 1 so far, I beg to differ.

GP2 this year has been a semi-mayhem, everyone crashing into everybody and no one giving a s**t about others when they overtake or take a corner. Useless aggressivity. I wouldn't take anyone from GP2 this year and put him into an Formula 1 car. Oh wait, that already happened.

The most intriguing event that revealed some of the GP2 drivers attitude towards racing and rules was when Canamasas was told to retire in Singapore but he just kept going and ignored all warnings. That guy should be banned from all types of racing.
