I see massa wining at home with alonso and schumi making the final places on the podium. But renault are good on circuits where good traction and grip out of slow corners are needed and interlagos suits this.

Yes alonso may have to finish but schumi has to win so there is risk and worry on both sides and schumi has more to lose, as he has to get the top place in the points alonso can take any of the remaining seven places.

But i would be happy to place money on massa taking alonso nose cone off at the first corner.

Ok, this is how it is.

Massa pole, yes, he will pull over but they will let him have a moment of glory at his home track, Shumi P2, now heres the clever bit... somehow get R Schu (can normally be relied upon to have a ding) & barrichello into 3 & 4. 5, Alonso (out of the way of late breaking nose cone clipping red things) Fisi 6, Button 7, lah lah lah etc etc.....

Start, RS gets a flier then ploughs into the slow starting Massa, Massa then clips the rear of MS causing puncture.... MS pits dropping him to the back of the pack, with FM & RS retired Alonso soon takes RB and streaks off into the distance, setting up MS sything through the rest of the field after pitting (admittedley great viewing) to second place with 15 laps to go, JT may even ask PS @ Renault if FA may slow down just a little bit so MS can overtake on the last turn (wouldnt want to do it on a straight, to obvious) & win his final race. Renault & Alonso win the drivers & constructors & MS goes out seemingly on top.

Thats how I see it anyway lol

I wonder if, rather than Massa disgracing himself, that nice Mr Sato could do the honour of taking Alonso out... he seems to be ideally qualified to do the job, his CV has numerous examples of past experience and surely he wouldn't charge much for the work - in fact he seems to enjoy it. Does anyone have his contact details?

MS must finish first, surely a 1 in 22 chance of this (1/22)
FA must finish in the points, 8 in 22 chance of this (4/11)

Yet I still have a tingling worry that MS will win this champ. Real odds:
Fernando Alonso is 1/25 with Ladbrokes to retain his world drivers' title following his win in a dramatic Japanese Grand Prix. Michael Schumacher is out to 8/1 for an eighth crown.

Aren't the odds like this?
1) Schumi wins, MS 1st and FA 9-22:
1/22 * 14/22 = 2.9%

2) Alonso wins, MS 2-22 or MS 1st and FA 1-8:
21/22 + 1/22 * 8/22 = 97.1%

That's all nice math if F1 came even close to a uniform distribution. However, no such luck, though I suppose the likes of SA and STR and all wouldn't mind if it were :D

Of course. I was just correcting the odds mentioned above. 8)

I'm sure everyone knows it's not as likely for either to win or finish last. Both are possible though, accidents do happen, but anyway...

What I want to see is MS on pole, FA second and a real fight, nothing at stake but a race win. They are both on new engines and both drivers know and like the circuit, the tyre performance should be quite even and so should the cars. Bring it on.

Is there any chance Michael might help Alonso out of the race while not jepordising his chance of winning? Probably not but we'll see.

I remember a few years ago, 2003 probably, were the points were the same between Kimi and MS coming into Suzuka for the last round. Michael seemed to try everything to loose that race, ending a distant 8th (ater hitting Sato, hehe) Luckily for him Kimi couldn't get past Rubens so he couldn't have lost it anyway.
