One ugly supercar

Post

Simon: Nils? You can close in now. Nils?
John McClane: [on the guard's phone] Attention! Attention! Nils is dead! I repeat, Nils is dead, ----head. So's his pal, and those four guys from the East German All-Stars, your boys at the bank? They're gonna be a little late.
Simon: [on the phone] John... in the back of the truck you're driving, there's $13 billon dollars worth in gold bullion. I wonder would a deal be out of the question?
John McClane: [on the phone] Yeah, I got a deal for you. Come out from that rock you're hiding under, and I'll drive this truck up your ass.

I really like it. It's original, I think. And of course it is very well finished.
I'm not a Japanese car design, but I have to say this car has been very well handcrafted.
I love those details and the optics. Who's this "guy" Mutsuoka anyway?
"I've already altered the deal, pray I don't alter it any further" -Darth Vader to Lando Calrissian. The Empire Strikes Back.
"Progress is not always made by reasonable men." (McLaren Racing).
"We have optimised the lateral optical interface of the building." (Translation: "My factory has a lot of windows.") Ron Dennis.-

The Orochi has a ton of styling applied to it. Personally, it's like applying garish makeup to an already beautiful lady.
The fundamantel lines are wonderful, but all the additions make for a very busy visual car. From the little smiling chrome grill to the teardrop shaped hood vents it has a lot going on. By the way, where are the radiators?
When I checked out Mitsuoka Motor Co, they revealed themselves to be a Japanese specialty manufacturer with a varied line with "in your face" styling.

Check out the Le Seyde, with a 2 liter DOHC engine and the lines of the classic pimpmobile. It wouldn't be hard to visualize a Japanese businessman with a mullet and an Elvis suit driving it to his nightly karoake.
Personally not my thang, but I can see how it can appeal to a small segment who aren't afraid to be seen.

If you want a Japanese supercar, at least get a Tommy Kaira. It actually looks drivable.
Bring back wider rear wings, V10s, and tobacco advertisements

I think they have made their own statement about how the car should look. A bit fussy, but the details seem well executed and the proportions look Ok from that angle.

Not to everyones taste - but not terrible.......

yes it is quite ugly, but it has hints on the headlight clusters of mercedes and the front a little like a toyota celica (older version used in rallying) and the rear sort of looks corvette square in the flanks
