Ferrari F2012

A place to discuss the characteristics of the cars in Formula One, both current as well as historical. Laptimes, driver worshipping and team chatter do not belong here.

IMHO the hole second part of the Saison the Updates didn't work it.
And my idea is still the same, the Scuderia has a great leak in the CFD Department and have
it still problem with the Wind tunnel, until weeks ago.
How can work a technical with tools they doesn't can be used or works wrong?

Some of this Details shows to me, that the Team Manager Domenicali has not a great overview of his team.
Tombazis was the Designer of the F2012, but he hast left the Aerodinamic space ....blank! Two weeks ago Autosprint reported the Ferrari "has found a new aero technical (!!!)"
Sounds like they have work it a season without a specialist in this Departement, a really shame!

What really disappoint me, is the factor that they make so many Track Tests with Wings, diffusor etc. and than comes the commentary: "We have found the reason ...and what's wrong on this pieces" Okay, great... but after than, the other new updates have the same results! No progress, no working well!
I hope that this Friday they stay focus of the Car that they have and working on the setup for the race, forget the Qualifying the F2012 is not a "sprinter" for one lap shot.

Wow Mclaren style front wing.. Interesting...

Top flap is still bv Very similar to launch version (JPG 1
JPG 2)...

They just add curly edge on each side of that top flap (vortex generators) and implemend in the newest/latest 6 flap wing philosophy...

What's McLaren style about it?

It looks like the 6 element one they had in the US.

Oh no i just think the upper flap is very similar like mclarens.... But anyway i just think that upper flat leading edge is more
sharp or squary... Maybe is just angle play trick with me... Upper shape of leading edge of various angles are very decepting sometimes... Sorry i maybe overreact.... I was quite sure that was just little tweek for this weekeend (odd anyway who will show new thing in thursday... i idiot #-o )...

It's interesting Anderson points out the bottom of the RWEP extensions and the fact they're not shaped with the same steep angle of the airflow. The RB8 & McLaren both utilize an angle at the bottom of their vanes. I'm sure it's not worth tons of time but I just don't get how Ferrari can miss something like this. Amazing.

Front wing looks so old and so conservative, i know visual cues say nothing about the performance of the wing but it just looks like they are scared of changing too much on the front wing.

Not far off this one,

Seems the 09 and 2010 wing was more fluid in it´s design. More aggressive as well.

The flap did get more "square" look on the last version, but that's about it.
Mclaren uses a 2 element flap(total of 3 elements counting the main plane) over it's full wing span, Ferrari has something of a "stair" design, with many differing size cuts, near the endplates but a simple single flap over the rest of it's width, i don't see much Mclaren similarity...

And that wing is "old news" it has been in Fernando's car since Abu Dhabi.
