Yeah fantastic season. I feel for Alonso but if Ferrari can give him a good car next year hopfully he will stop vettles run.

Probs be Alonso vs Vettle for 2013 , I doubt Hamilton will have the car and dont think button will challenge, he will get odd wins but thats it

yep even if i end up disappointed (again!) i can appreciate it was a truly great season of F1 racing, up there with the very best.

we are all F1 fans and we should appreciate that we were given yet another season with dramatic finale.

a nail biting finish to a really fantastic season...but holy s..t when did we last see this many technical dnfs and glitches

RedBull-Renault Alternator failure, KERS woes,alternator,alternator,
MGP-Gearbox,Wheelretention,Gearbox woes,DRS Failures,Fuelpump/pickup failure,Telemetry(?),Gearbox,
Mclaren: diff failure , Hub failures, exhaustbroken ,Gearbox failures,Fuelsupply, ..steering wheel, technical issue(?) ,broken arb...definetely too many issues
Sauber Brakes,driveshaft
Marussia :pneumatic valvetrain,driveshaft,Electronics,Brakes,engine
HRT:Wheel retention,Brakes,Brakes,steering,technical woes(?),Brakes
Toro rosso; Steering,Suspension
Lotus: Alternator failure
Caterham :Engine
Force india: Brakes

only Ferrari seems to have a rock steady reliability record ! and Lotus ,Caterham,Force India those with just one technical dnf ..remarkable.

The oddest thing is that Ferrari beat McLaren to second in the WCC. Reliability not counting McLaren probably had the fastest car over the season and they pissed it all away to end up 3rd. What a sad way for Hamilton to leave the team. Ron Dennis still seems to have a huge chip on his shoulders. I can understand that Hamilton got tired of waiting for McLaren to give him a decent shot at the championship. The season certainly had its dramas. The most striking technical feature was the introduction of the DDRS on the Red Bull in Singapore. It transformed the RB8 into a championship winning car and was the rally cry for Sebastian Vettel's campaign. It was amazing to watch him go from strength to strength. I also enjoyed Hamilton driving the wheels off his McLaren in the last two races. Superb end to a great season.

What a season indeed.

Pirellotteris; Red Bull Technology three-peat; McLaren's extensive use of checkers strategy within a game that more closely resembles chess; Ferrari's inability to design so much as a paper bag that doesn't suffer from pitch sensitivity; Mercedes' inability to design anything; Williams caught fire, then caught on fire, then promptly excused itself from the rest of the conversation; Lotus' pioneering use of both race and one-lap drivers; Sauber's cunning use tire strategy to net high-profile, low-points finishes; and I'm pretty sure other teams competed as well, but don't quote me on that.

Yep, this is "the pinnacle of motorsport."

I think this is the reflection of the pressure of the unknown. This is pretty much the first season I remember when there were no clear leaders for quite a while, everybody got mixed up, and everybody felt loose.

Yeah - this is basically the 2010 title hunt, mixed with the 2011 on-track action. Don't think my heart can take it every year though
