Nice insights into prevoius years results mnmracer.
If you want you can lay out all Qualifying teammate numbers, HAM/BUT - ALO/MAS - VET/WEB
HAM/BUT - 44:14 or 75.8%
ALO/MAS - 47:11 or 81%
VET/WEB - 54:21 or 72%

Considering only one of the team mates is a qualifying ace.

I think he's referring to this year. Lets look at those stats.

17-3 to Hamilton over Button
17-3 to Alonso over Massa

What was the score between in quali webber and vettel again this year.......

I actually think he has - it's just that he usually has the quickest car anyways that those few poles he has without the quickest car are dismissed as "just another lap in the fastest car" if you know what I mean.

I genuinely think that Vettel had slower cars on several of his pole positions - Germany 2010, Hungary 2011, Japan 2011, Abu Dhabi 2011 spring out to me as the obvious examples.

While I do not wish to take a stand in this argument - I disagree with this methodology. Why disregard past years? The quali results are still as representative as this year's - equal machinery, etc etc.

Well the topic goes something like this.

THIS YEAR Fernando Alonso was voted BY FAR (biggest margin of all time) the best driver in the sport today, by team principals.

What happened 5 bloody years ago is beyond the main scope of discussion but its hilarious to watch mnmracer come up with more and more ways to put his man at #1.

Give Button and Massa the car, and they also look like qualifying aces (see beginning of 2009 for Button, and 2008 for Massa).

if one is forced to pick a yardstick for modern-day F1 drivers after the 2012 season, it would be hard to look beyond Alonso after the year he has just had.
Because praise (and being called samurai in the streets by random strangers) is more important than actual success in said profession.
"There is a credit card with the Ferrari logo, issued by Santander, which gives the scuderia a % of purchases made with the card...

I would guess that such a serious amount of money would allow them to ignore the constant complains of a car that was nowhere near as bad as their #1 driver tried to sell throughout the season.

Heck, a car on which Massa finishes in the podium or has to lift so that his teammate finishes ahead (As we saw often in the final races of the year) is, by no means, a "bad" car."

You posted exactly the same thing under another name on Autosport forums and got ran off there....so why post it here?

And Alonso is successful in his profession, his colleague say he is the best at his job, cant get a better review then that.

Ps. that's 2/3 years now the team bosses have said this.

You are one hilarious guy you know that right :) "hmm..how do i make Vettel come on top? i know, i disregard the fact that we talk about 2012 or the fact that 2012 was the year he had what we would hint at being a dog so i´ll take his best years and include them and VOILA Vettel on top again."

Now do one with 2012 only. See if you can.

I'll answer for him....
Well the score between webber and Vettel was 11-9................BUT............... IF YOU LOOK THE RACES WHERE VETTEL HAD HIS CHEERIOS FOR BREAKFAST AND A THAI MASSAGE FROM DR HELUMT MARKO BEFORE THE RACE AND THEN ONLY COUNT THE RACES WHERE THE ROOM TEMPERATURE IN VETTEL'S HOTEL ROOM WAS LESS THAN 20 DEGREES.....THEN VETTEL WINS 10-0 THEREFORE HE IS THE BEST DRIVER

IF YOU DONT AGREE YOU ARE LYING.

So when it's Alonso, the team bosses vote indicate how good he is.
When Vettel is voted better than Alonso, it doesn't count.

Can always count on you for a good old double standard =D> =D> =D>

Alonso won it without being in the Best car or being world champion.

It's just like schumacher 1996-1999, no world titles......... no best car, still universally recognized as the number one driver in the sport.

This top 10 is as pointless as ever. Team bosses are fully biasied, and you still have to have among the best cars to be there. Button P5 (blew away by Lewis half the season) Perez, Massa in top 10... strange, strange.
Just for laught... where was Button in 2008 ?

Does anyone know how they vote? If they voted at the end of the season, there's probably a lot of bias (and hate) in the voting - but if they vote for 'best driver' at the end of each race (like the Brownlow), well that's a different story, as we've seen a truer overall result of how people felt on the day- and on thereby the results are a combination of the 'best on the day' - not points.

You answer how they vote, you answer whether the results are viable or not.
