Race of Champions 2012

Post

Germany's dynamic duo does it again. MSC (& VET) to go for a record-extending 7th Nation's Cup next year.
AutoSport: Germany wins RoC 2012 Nations' Cup

Michael Schumacher and Sebastian Vettel claimed their sixth consecutive Race of Champions Nations' Cup victory for Team Germany.

The duo dominated the event, which was held for the first time in Bangkok's Rajamangala Stadium, winning every head-to-head tie in which they competed...

I know, but that is very very ironic. The crash boy of 2012 is the champion of champions

Here's what I wrote for Romain Grosjean

I thought you would never prevail
You left all of us with so many DNF's all season
Every other driver had contact with you
You drove over them all in Belgian Grand Prix
Alonso saw you flew over him like a bird
The explosive black one from Angry Birds
You also shot Hamilton with your amazing jump
Left him all alone with his front wing behind
Romain you are one like no one has ever seen
Seb and Mike couldn't see what you can be
You outraced them all on RoC like a man
Leaving them shocked staring at your big smile man
I was wrong to call you an angry bird
But hey you destroyed them all like green pigs anyway
Champion of champions now you are
All hail Romain the next big thing is to come

Grosjean takes full advantage of having a track all to his own, goes through Vettel, Schumacher and Kristensen on his way to the RoC 2012 title.
GPUpdate: Grosjean wins ROC 2012

Romain Grosjean beat Le Mans legend Tom Kristensen to claim the 25th Race of Champions title in Bangkok, Thailand on Sunday. The Lotus F1 driver won the final with a score of two to nil, adding his name to the list of winners and making it France’s second victory in a row after Sébastien Ogier's 2011 triumph.

Grosjean graduated from Group D, losing his first race against Michael Schumacher but defeating IndyCar champion Ryan Hunter-Reay and Kazuya Ohshima; he then took a surprise victory in the quarter final against Sebastian Vettel, who was stopped by a failure on his rear-right suspension after tapping the wall, before taking revenge for his group-stage defeat by defeating Schumacher in the semi-final...

Anyone with half a brain/eye could see Grosjean is one of the fastest drivers in F1 this past season. Clearly faster than Kimi, although less intelligent/more unfortunate up until now. As soon as he learns to also use his brain in races, Vettel will have a worthy nemesis.

I would guess that such a serious amount of money would allow them to ignore the constant complains of a car that was nowhere near as bad as their #1 driver tried to sell throughout the season.

Heck, a car on which Massa finishes in the podium or has to lift so that his teammate finishes ahead (As we saw often in the final races of the year) is, by no means, a "bad" car."

As opposed to Alonso, who only just failed to take the WDC off Vettel in 2 separate years?

Alonso has done a fabulous job with what he only has compared to Grosjean, Hamilton, Vettel as far as raw speed/talent is concerned. But it's only because others fail that he ends up where he always ends up. He's by far the best at using his head though, there's no denying that.

Am i right in thinking Germany always win as a team, a very good team. but without a car advantage the drivers cant win on their own ?

Wouldn't they then not also need the car advantage in the team contest? It's not like they drive different cars in that contest, or drive 1 car with 2 drivers or whatnot.
