That whole post was very well said! Why must some people use every opportunity to spread their negative views about drivers they hate? Michael has been a role model for many young people and some old farts like me as well. People have suggested that he founds his own team and becomes an office person. I'm happy he isn't doing that. His love for competing and carting is impressive for me and not an issue for criticism.
Formula One's fundamental ethos is about success coming to those with the most ingenious engineering and best .............................. organization, not to those with the biggest budget. (Dave Richards)

From now more people will pay more attention to karts only because Michael is there, so why the hate? the sport itself is going to gain more media coverage, perhaps some sponsors and the pleasure of seeing a legend compiting. I cant see the negative aspect of this, and I dont think that a potential future star is going to loose his opportunity because Michael is there.

Boy, if I was a kid or even now at my advancing age, I would love to be on the same track and race against the only 7 time champion in history. Imagine a kid going to school and telling the class they raced against Michael Schumacher or an old grandfather telling his grand kids he raced against Michael Schumacher. Kids and old people might tell a few tales, only this time they'd be true. Then again, maybe they'd be looked at like the boy who cried wolf. At any rate, I think its great for the sport. I don't kart, though I've always wanted to try, however Michael Schumacher is allowed to come race slot cars or RC cars against me any time. I have no fear of the seven-time champion!

BTW for all you hard lined Schumacher Haters, GET A LIFE! My dad was a caddy as a boy at a small New England country club. One day out of the blue, some 80 years ago, Bobby Jones came to the course where he caddied and played a round. Nobody felt he didn't belong, and for my dad and many others, it was the thrill of a lifetime. I'm sure the experience would be the same for those who are lucky enough to meet this or any other legend. Remember, we didn't get this opportunity with Senna,Clark or Dale Earnhardt and I'm positive, if this was Senna, we'd be hearing praise about his good will and giving back to the sport he loves. I think this is a positive message to all sports stars and the boost it would give their image, as well as their sport, is huge. No need to listen to the small minded who always seem to seek the negative in any good will!

simple: Karting is a sport on its own, and loads of fun; Schumacher like many F1 drivers loves it (and had always ) so he wants to race in it.

As said by someone, KZ and KF is not a 16 years old thing; Karting is not (at the origin) a climb ladder for auto racing and in the top categories you have "mature guys" like david foré, (37 years olds, drives in both KF and KZ and actually wins races) that are professionnal karters.

The important question is: is there a TV/Stream for those events? :D

He should quit trying to compete, and certainly in the karts where his palce can be filled by some young talent with a future, instead of wasting a place just because he wants to have fun.

No offence to anyone, but he should just accept that he had his time, and give the younger drivers their chance for glory.
So much bitterness in a single post ...

Maybe it's just his DNA, and he loves to drive. Micheal needs to accomplish nothing more, he's already done it. It will be a while before anyone breaks his record.
I have a good friend that spent a weekend with Fangio, driving around Italy for three days, having great conversations and seeing the country side and rarely below 140 mph! It's their comfort zone, it's their reality.

I ahve to say that I am super impressed with Schumacher for going but to his roots and back to basics. His presence in karting will give it the boost it needs. DAmn I'm so inspired I want to get a Kart again. I love the thrill of driving those things. really awesome Michael =D>
