Perez's time was actually on the softer tyre as was reported by autosport, unless you're talking about yesterday?

Oh really? I must have missread, then we have near 0 data on McLaren too, because I don't believe they're over a second behind Merc.

Edit: He was on hards too, so they could do at least a 1:21.0 in qually. 1.2 seconds better than last year's pole time isn't bad.
I'm kind of shocked by that improvement in performance, that is a massive step forward for merc. I wonder how much the RB Mc and Fer have improved. We are of course assuming that Merc has shown their hand between the other 3 big guys have not, which I am not sure is the case.
Well, I did say at least, so there's no assumption in there that Merc have shown their hand, they might be able to go faster than a 1:21.0.
RB, the best knowledge we have is that vettel could do a 1:22.3 on hards, so we know they can do at least a 1:21.3.
McLaren Checo did a 1:22.7 on hards, with 4 extra laps of fuel at least on board, so again, that's a 1:21.3 at least.
Ferrari we don't really have any data on.

I would suggest that all of these estimates are at least half a second off the absolute maximum performance any of these teams can do, as none of them will have turned the engine up to max in testing, I'd also suggest that McLaren and RedBull probably have some more left in them at least.
What exhaust system used Lewis. I saw many pictures with the old version, but didn't see a picture from today with the new one. If this times are without the coanda... can we guess that there is more pace to find?

Getting a bit worried with lotus now, they keep having niggling problems that prevents them from doing lots of necessary mileage.

No, he used the 2013 exhaust solution for his fastest time.

its ridiculous that Lotus had barely done any long run since jerez................

Kimi had lost his precious 2 days of testing, they barely had any run to understand the different tyre compound.

They didn't loose much from the EBD from 2011 to 2012 : the fastest in Barcelona I 2011 was Massa in 1'22"6, the fastest in Barcelona I 2012 was Maldonado (or Kobayashi ?) in 1'22"3...

This year, there is just restrictions over the use of the DRS but the tyres are softer, so don't be astonished if the lap times goes in 1'20 something.
At the moment, all the lap times seems inconclusive to me... the fact Hamilton did a 12 lap stint does not mean he had more fuel... I'm sure nobody at the moment run with less than 30/40 kg of fuel onboard.

The only thing we can look at is the drop off over some laps...

SkySportsF1 Ted Kravitz has told SSN that Lewis Hamilton's time on the hard tyre this morning will have made "Red Bull sit up and take notice."
Of course I struggle. I just don’t quit.

it's still better then last year when they missed whole first barcelona tests, dont be so upset. it's better to solve problems on test then when is GP.
