On the first day "sum up" video from sky the guy was telling us that Mercedes hit the limiter on the end of the straight.
So maybe he just closes it earlier to not hit the limiter.
btw. On the video you can see that he was driving without their DRD. So a negative effect of the DRD to the DRS which would lead him to close DRS earlier is not the reason!
