No, it's supposed to blow where the strake is, so that it can fall down the gap between the wheel and the floor.Shrieker wrote:Isn't the coanda exhaust supposed to blow inwards where the flo-vis is ? Yet it looks like the paint has barely moved.
What's your take on this guys ?
Also... Is that flow seperation on the last pic ?
Where?Wait, isn't that a tunnel?

James Allen stated that the Mercedes and Lotus were very close in terms of times over a stint, as well as degredation.

Ferrari has a solid single profile towards the inside of the tyre. Mercedes on the other hand simply have 5 profiles.

think they'll close off some of the gaps between the elements on the inside?
It looks like a very skilled technique to mold ferrari's wing though.

I believe the car would have been running pretty slowly in those photos with the flames shooting through the back of the car from the exhaust. At speed the trajectory of the mass flow would change significantly due to the flow around the sidepod being at greater pressure at high speed.Ferraripilot wrote:Shrieker wrote:Isn't the coanda exhaust supposed to blow inwards where the flo-vis is ? The intent of the Coanda exhaust is to blow between the rear tire and diffuser sidewall this enlarging the size of the diffuser which is why raising ride height often amplifies this effect of the system is designed well. We've all noticed W04 running much more rake these days so I believe it's safe to assume the Coanda system is operativ well. Also, on the first day of testing you should recall the fire which actually showed exhaust flow very well, and per my recollection the flow was going precisely where one would want.
