Perhaps most of you don't know much about this driver who passed away at age 76 . Dave Charlton from South Africa was a pioneer and local racing star in the 60s and 70s. Charlton participated in 11 Formula 1 GPs all at Kyalami, South Africa racing privateer Lotuses .
I dont know much about Mr Charlton but that's a great idea. Have local heros drive customer cars for local races.
Maybe you could have 2 entries reserved for local drivers in certain races, where they drive last years championship winner or something. Imagine seeing Kobayashi in a Red Bull around Suzaka.
I remember him ! More exactly the F-1 cars he drove in beautiful Lucky Strike colours : the Lotus 72D and later the Mc Laren M-23 (ex-Revson, winning car in Silverstone 1973).
