I wouldn't say he exceeded our high (and rightly so) expectations though. The Dunlop series doesn't have a highly competitive field, many of the drivers are very young and not exactly outstanding talents. I think he did what many of us were expecting. I think a top 10 finish would have been impressive, so what he achieved was not quite "impressive" but it was promising in the sense that he wasn't below where I was expecting him to be in his first race. I think we will see him climb very quickly to the top of the series though, although there are only 6 more rounds.

I have a gut feeling if this season does satisfy his ambition level, I could see a move to WSB ducati on the horizon.
I read a rumour Troy Bayliss helped Stoner get his foot in the door in his motogp career.
Ducati were very loyal to Bayliss and Corser, Stoner is bound to get the itch back for podiums given the level of intensity hes shown in the past.
