At lower speed, its more about inertia than drag (drag squaring with speed blah blah blah). So they can gauge by acceleration from lower speed corners.

Obviously, they'll need input from a few timestamped speed guns to match engine rpm to speed and from that deduce the gear ratios. Having a fair idea of engine torque across the range, they'll be able to work out what force the engine is putting through the rear tyres. After that it is Newton.

you can really see the lotus' rear end squatting down when kimi puts the throttle down most evidently when exiting the chicane. Under braking the rear literally jumps to full rake.

That because Lotus relatively runs softer rear to the other car . You can see in the 2011 and 2012 season the Lotus cars spark more than the other on the street circuit especially .

Also may be I have been playing F1 2012 too much and see only Lotus sparking in normal setting

That Red Bull seems to be sliding in corner exits ..

After watching the pictures (Sky f1), i really think Merc and Red Bull are the best. Lotus and Ferrari less traction and grip. McLaren is hard to judge, but a lot of lockups.
Irvine:"If you don't have a good car you can't win it, unless you are Michael or Senna. Lots of guys won in Adrian Newey's cars, big deal. Adrian is the real genius out there, there is Senna, there is Michael and there is Newey. They were the three great talents."

Yep, I identified that yesterday too – the RBR has corner exit oversteer.

F1fanatic said that Rosberg was using DRS on all the sections were he could when he did 1:20:130. Other sites does not report such thing. What do you know?

yes.

Sky confirms Rosberg had his DRS open all the time, whilst Alonso only has it on the official DRS sections

Auto Motor und Sport confirmed Rosberg didn't use DRS everywhere. They go a step further, they say it's even not possible to do that even if Rosberg wanted to do it.

That seems to be a typical McLaren problem. Last year Hamilton had a lot of lock ups too.

How much can make? more than -300? I don't think he could have won more than -100 on every sector, and a cumulated -300 more on the whole lap, given the fact that on one sector Alonso used it to.
