Thanks, Ciro. It made a very interesting reading.
Luca di Montezemolo is an old-school guy, very early promoted in the 70's within Ferrari and Fiat, so clearly is a guy tuned to the political and machiavelic way of making business and with a strong hunger for power. This story is completely credible and makes him the guy responsable for the end of the most successful dream team in F1 history (Todt-Schumacher-Brawn). Very enlightening!
It's disgusting what happened behind the scenes there, especially when I read that Todt and MS didn't really want to help Irvine. As much as everybody hates him.
Bring back wider rear wings, V10s, and tobacco advertisements
I didn’t read the article yet but a few weeks ago, probably little time after it was published, in an Italian weekly tv program about motorsport they discussed about it. One of the guests in that program was, as often happens, Pino Allievi, a journalist of Gazzetta dello Sport who follows F1 since decades and is in good relationship with most of the people in that world (Bernie included).
He basically said that that article has very little if any resemblance with reality. He also added that Business F1 is a very particular magazine, due to limited circulation and cost (something like 30€ per issue) its target is restricted and mostly composed by insiders. For that reason its content isn’t meant to be information for general public but mostly to pursuit a particular agenda with respect to those who are going to read it, the magazine typically follows “guidelines” set by a certain group of people. Allievi didn’t say who those are and what kind of aim they could have with that particular article anyway he made clear that it’s a very creative interpretation of the events meant to be a political game and not an accurate description.
