My parents and grandparents have some amazing stories about UFO's and withcraft from the rural region in Mexico where we're from. So even if I think I know better, I still really want to believe, perhaps someday I'll be fortunate enough to witness something on my own and then I'll be sure of these extraordinary events.
My answer is trivial: we can't be alone in the Universe. It's too huge and there must be some planets with good conditions for living. I don't see oxygen either, but I know it exists. The truth is out there
I've seen things in the air when flying that I have no idea what they were, so they were UFO's, maybe I have no idea. They could have even been alien or possibly just 10 years ahead of what we know is out there.
As Ellie Arroway (Jodie Foster) said in the movie Contact it's a big universe, if it's just us it would be an awful waste of space.
Something that strengthens the case that some government somewhere knows something is look at its officials that say yes.
J.Allen Hynek was involved in three (3) US government UFO investigations, Sign, Grudge and Blue Book as a debunker and is famous for two things:
1: the infamous swamp gas comment; and
2: switching sides and saying yes there are UFO's and even going so far as to appear in Speilberg's Close Encounters of the Third Kind and starting CUFO's which would later become MUFON.
Ben Rich was quoted as saying " We now have the technology to take ET home.." So was does that mean?
Others like the Canadian Transport Official saying that he was told they are real.
US Airforce officers (Robert Jacobs) saying the USAF filmed them from Big Sur during the test of an Atlas ICBM in 1964 which was confirmed in writing by his superior Col Florenz J Mannsmann in 1987.
Gordon Cooper who was one of the original US Mercury astronauts saw them land and in space.
The reports from the Apollo astronauts were not all explained as boosters and there were many others.
Rendlesham Forest incident in the UK in the 80's.
The Travis Walton incident in 1975 in Arizona.
Shuttle astronauts were apparently recorded saying they were had UFO's observance.
JAL1628 flight over Alaska which the FAA and NTSB had radar data and black box recording. A USAF KC135 tanker a month or so later saw something similar and reported it in and even commented on the JAL sighting.
There is also the WW2 LA incident.
Then there is the bizarre cattle mutilations in Montana and Colorado.....
The list is never ending of circumstantial evidence, pilot reports and even some physical evidence.
So in answer to the question are there UFO's the simple answer is absolutely.
Are they aliens, possibly and many very intelligent people think so.
It's just many other equally intelligent people don't and there would certainly seem to be enough vested interests that you'd want to keep it under wraps.
As someone once said, I don't know what that means but it certainly is interesting.
But I'd definitely be in the yes there are camp.
