I don't think Alonso will "aim" for the pole... If he gets it eventually, well and good but I think they'll want to be the strongest on race pace, giving up a couple of places on the grid if needed.

I think all the lead drivers will go for pole, It's very easy to get caught out in the pack as Alonso found out in Malaysia.

I think you guys are jumping to very quick conclusions there I bet Merc were running a fair bit heavier than others after it was clear that they didn't lack quali pace but did lack a bit race pace in the first 3 races. Malaysia was hot too and they didn't do badly there at all, did they

Ham was struggling, but nico did many laps very close to Lotus pace. They loose time only in sector 2. I think tomorrow we'll see higher downforce setup.
