Renault F1 KERS Twizy

Post

I have been a long time lurker here since 2006, finally decided to join and post this first!!!

Renault F1 division has now created an F1 style tweak to the Twizy. The package includes, front and rear wings, KERS for 80 HP boost for 13 seconds, complete with an F1 style steering wheel showing kers charge and diffuser!!

Said to be capable of 0-62 in 6 seconds and a top speed of 68 miles/hour...I know the twizy is registered in some countries as a heavy quad cycle, but will this be allowed on the freeway then?

I am hoping that as in the Twizy, this technology will be more common place in everyday cars as per F1's promise of creating road relevant tech.... what loads of fun such machines will be!!!

(Oh you got to be kidding me.)

I don't think the wings will be very effective when the top speed is only 68 miles/hour. The kers does seems to be a nice addition, but why the twizy? It looks rediculed.

IMHO, the wings and F1 style wheels seem more at home on the Twizy's chassis than on your regular sedan, anyway I think the Twizy definitely needed a power boost...and what a boost it got!

Give em a break, they're french!

"Road relevant F1 technology"

Is this coming up alot lately or is it just me?
You could go and say steering wheel buttons are F1 derived, seat belts, any huge number of things. The Twizy?
It looks about as far from F1 as a silly straw.

Interesting the 6sec 0-62 time, and the top speeds only another 6mph up the road.

Would have looked better as '0 to maximum speed in 8 seconds'
